Solai Rabbit Farmers Self Help Group's story

Jesinta, the lady raising her hand in the photo, is a member of Solai Rabbit Farmers Self Help Group. She is 60 years old and has nine children, who have all completed schooling. She is married and lives with her extended family.

Jesinta is a rabbit farmer. She joined the group to get training on rabbit rearing. In addition to that, she received training on enterprise management and financial development from Hand in Hand Eastern Africa. This has helped her improve her knowledge of business management.

She is borrowing from Kiva to buy rabbit feed that will improve productivity, thus keeping up with the demand for rabbit meat in Nakuru. She hopes this will increase her income level. Jesinta is grateful to Kiva and its lenders and promises to repay promptly.
