The lady raising her hand in the photo is Josphine, a member of Kiriri Kuku Kienyeji Self Help Group. She is married and a mother of seven children. She joined Hand in Hand Eastern Africa in the year 2013.
She does maize, beans and poultry farming as her main business. She has benefited much from Hand in Hand Eastern Africa training on enterprise and financial management; this has assisted her in budgeting, planning and record keeping. She is borrowing from Kiva to buy farm inputs. i.e. fertilizer and seeds, to help improve farm output. This will assist her in catering for the family and managing her business well.
Josphine is grateful to Kiva and their lenders and promises to pay promptly.
