A loan helped a member to buy more stock of watermelons thus boost sales that will increase income.


Jipe Moyo Group's story

The person raising her hand is Josphine, a member of Jipe Moyo Group. She is 58-years-old, married and has a family of 7 children. She is a dairy and maize farmer. She also runs a grocery business selling watermelons to supplement her farming income. She joined Hand in Hand Eastern Africa (HiH EA) in 2014 to be trained on enterprise management and development. She is borrowing a Kiva loan to add more stock of watermelons to her grocery business.

Josphine is grateful to Kiva and its lenders as they will help her to expand her business, thus be in a position to provide for the family and her personal needs with ease.
