A loan helped a Mexican entrepreneur equip a family-run Oaxacan restaurant to share authentic cuisine.

Leticia's story

My name is Leticia and I’m originally from the coast of Oaxaca, Mexico. I left my country with the hope of fulfilling my dreams and goals, bringing with me the roots of my homeland and a deep love for Oaxacan cuisine.

I learned to cook from my mother, who sold food in our hometown. She is my biggest inspiration and taught me all the traditional recipes that still live on in our kitchen today. Since I arrived in the United States 17 years ago, I’ve worked nonstop while also looking for a way to start my own business.

Some time later, my mother was able to join me so we could build this dream together.
