Elena's story

Elena lives in the San Bernardo area, in the municipality of Sandoná, state of Nariño, in southwestern Colombia. Elena lives with her husband and child.

Elena does artisanal work, weaving in "iraca" [a palm]. This work is very common in the region, and generates income for women who are heads of their families.

Elena requests a loan for COP 3,088,000 to invest in the purchase of raw materials to make bags and hats.

Elena dreams of becoming a well-known artisan in the region, and that her products will be known nationally.
