A loan helped us grow our inventory to supply more products and grow our small black-owned business.

Iyonna's story

After coming out of a 2 year dark spiral of depression and a failed suicide attempt, I started the journey of exploring what can bring me a reason to want to live. I know that your kid and even family should be the reason or at least part of the reason. Sadly I already rationalized how being without me was so much better and even accepted that. So this inspiration had to be my own realization outside of my roles in life (mom, sister, daughter, student, employee). Luckily my hobby turned into the purpose or my purpose found me disguised as a hobby. I started making candles as a project with my son in quarantine and discovered how aromatherapy works! After testing out a few on friends and strangers, I was compelled to start really selling candles for profit.
