A loan helped to prepare land for planting; buy seeds to plant onions, potatoes, and leeks; and keep providing for her family.

Sonila's story

Sonila is a 25-year-old lady from south Albania. She is married and the mother of two little children, a seven-year-old son and a one-year-old daughter. She lives with her family and her husband's parents in a village house. To provide for themselves, the entire family is engaged in agricultural activity, mainly Sonila, as her parents-in-law are very old and her husband works also in construction.

"The pandemic period has been very difficult for our region because of the fact that there was no transportation possible for us to go to the city and sell the harvest!" said Sonila during the interview. Sonila could not save enough last season to pay the necessary expenses of preparing the land for planting and buying onion, potato, and leek seeds to continue her planting activity. Because of this, she is asking for the support of Kiva lenders. With your help she will be able to keep providing for her family.

Sonila thanks you all for the support and wishes a prosperous and cheerful end of year for all Kiva lenders.
