Kamendi's story

Kamendi is 59 years old. She is married and blessed with three children. Kamendi joined Hand in Hand Eastern Africa in the year 2013 and has benefited from enterprise development and financial management training.

Kamendi is a maize and bean farmer. She is borrowing a Kiva loan to buy farm inputs, such as seeds and fertilizer. Kamendi hopes that, as a result, her maize and bean production business will increase and, hence, increase her income.

Kamendi plans to use the increased income to provide better healthcare for her family, with improved living standards.
