A loan helped to buy some piglets to raise so a member of the vulnerable Roma community can sell them and make extra income for her family.

Valbona's story

Valbona is asking for your support for the fourth time, this time to buy some piglets to raise so she can sell them and make extra income for her family. Since the beginning of March, both she and her husband have been jobless and are dealing with a difficult financial situation, which they hope will end soon.

Valbona and her family are member of the vulnerable Roma community. Valbona lives with her husband, her two daughters, and her mother-in-law in a small house. As most with other members of the community, Valbona's husband used to work in scrap collection to provide for his family, while Valbona worked at a bag manufacturer for a monthly income of $220. They hope to restart their jobs soon. Valbona's mother-in-law takes a retirement pension of $107 per month, and she helps Valbona a lot by taking care of her little girl while she is at work, regardless of her health conditions.

This loan is special because:

It helps heavily marginalized Roma and Egyptian women create better lives for their families.
