A loan helped a member from the vulnerable Egyptian community to finish one room of a house he has started to built so he can provide a decent shelter for his family.

Flamur's story

Flamur is a 37 year old member of the vulnerable Egyptian community. He is married but unfortunately he can not become father; doctors have confirmed him recently this bad news. " A Gypsy man's biggest dream is to become father of many children, my father had 12, my brothers are having more than 4, while I can not have any!"-said Flamur almost crying.

Flamur lives with his wife and his mother in a so-called house, seen in his back, built with old boards and metal pieces more than 40 years ago. He has started to built a new house, but has no more savings to finish at least only one room so he can move with his family there, this is why he is asking for Kiva lenders support.

Flamur and his wife collect scrap for reselling for a living, his retired mother has a minimal retirement pension of $50/month. They are poor but promise to pay the loan installment on time.

This loan is special because:

It supports excluded and displaced populations in Albania.
