Kuweta Na Kwika Kitune Group's story

The lady raising her hand in the photo is Monica. She is 71 years old, married, and blessed with three children. She is a member of Kuweta Na Kwika Kitune group, which joined Hand in Hand Eastern Africa in the year 2013. The group members and have benefited from enterprise development and financial management training.

Monica cultivates maize, beans, potatoes and fruits. She is borrowing a Kiva loan to buy farm inputs, such as seed and fertilizer. She hopes this will increase her production, hence increasing her income. She will then use the anticipated income to provide food for her family.

She is grateful to Kiva and the lenders for the financial support, and she promises to repay promptly.
