Partner description:

Izili Côte d'Ivoire is a social enterprise that sells innovative energy, clean water and technology products priced and marketed to meet the needs of under-served people in Côte d'Ivoire. Izili was launched at the end of 2015 by Microcred, a digital finance group specializing in financial inclusion across Africa and China.

Today, the Izili group of companies operates in Madagascar, Senegal, Mali, DRC, Nigeria and Côte d'Ivoire. As of 2021 Izili has connected 240,000 off-grid households in its countries of operation. Izili offers pay-as-you-go solar products, water filtration, and tablets for business and educational use.

A unique lending approach:

With Kiva funding, Izili Côte d'Ivoire will be able to offer financing in order to provide access to solar energy products for lower income citizens. Izili loans will allow people to purchase affordable and durable solar kits and solar refrigerators. With these products, households will be able to reduce their carbon footprints, lower their energy costs, increase children's study time, improve health outcomes, and build a credit history.
