Partner Description:
COPEME is a non-profit association of microfinance institutions in Peru founded in 1990. They are committed to the development of small and medium enterprises in Peru with the objective of strengthening microfinance institutions, services, business development, and public agencies promoting small and medium businesses through innovative projects, public advocacy, and quality services.
A unique lending approach:
Kiva partners with COPEME to help them support small microfinance institutions reach marginalized refugee clients in Peru. The United Nations estimates that there are over 1 million Venezuelan refugees in Peru, and the vast majority lack access to financial services. COPEME will be partnering with Kiva and select microfinance institutions to reach these populations.
