Partner Description:
Negros Women for Tomorrow Foundation (NWTF) was founded in 1984 as an NGO aiming to help women achieve self-sufficiency, particularly among low-income communities in the Philippines. Operating across multiple provinces nationwide, the organization provides microfinance and capacity-building services to help women improve their livelihoods. NWTF’s goal is to increase women’s awareness of their economic potential, their skills and productivity and to improve their quality of life.
A unique lending approach:
NWTF provides working capital to women entrepreneurs to start, sustain, and grow small businesses. NWTF uses a microfinance approach inspired by the Grameen model, offering both group-based and individual loans primarily to low-income women in rural and urban communities. These loans support income-generating activities across trade, services, and small-scale production, while allowing these entrepreneurs to progress over time toward more independent, formal financial access. Additionally, the organization integrates services such as insurance coverage, scholarships for clients’ children, and access to health & wellness benefits. Together, these loans and services help borrowers build resilience, strengthen livelihoods, and advance NWTF’s broader goal of long-term economic empowerment and poverty reduction.
