The solidarity group SOP SERIGNE BABACAR SY was created on December 30, 2009. It is composed of seventeen women who are all from the same village. They are united by affinity and kinship. Their business involves small-scale commerce, poultry farming, and the fattening of sheep and cattle.  

Ms. Mareme D. (standing at the far right in the photo) is the group’s leader. She is 49 years old, married, and the mother of six children. She also has two of her grandchildren in her care. Mareme has a small business selling smoked fish.  She also fattens sheep. She has been in this business for over six years.

Using the profits, her goal is to support her husband in providing from the household and to cover the cost of schooling.

Le groupe de solidarité SOP SERIGNE BABACAR SY est créé le 30 décembre 2009. Il est composé de 17 femmes qui sont toutes du même village. Elles sont unies par affinité et par parenté. Elles ont comme activité le petit commerce, l'élevage de volailles, l'embouche ovine et bovine.

Madame MAREME D. debout tout à fait à droite sur la photo est responsable du groupe. Elle est âgée de 49 ans. Elle est mariée est mère de 06 enfants. Elle a aussi la charge de ses deux petits enfants.

Elle fait un petit commerce de poissons fumés. Elle fait également de l'embouche ovine. Cette activité elle la pratique depuis plus de 6 ans.

Son objectif est, à partir de ses bénéfices soutenir son mari dans la prise en charge de la maison et du payement des frais de scolarité.
