Sridevi's story

Sridevi is a resident of Muniguda village in the Rayagada district, Odisha, India. She is 40 years old. She has a small family with her husband and three children. Her husband is running a cosmetic shop. Sridevi makes leaf plates and sells them in the nearest market. No doubt she has everything required for the basic necessities of life like a small but permanent income, a two-wheeler and other related items to manage her family. Still, her family members are not happy due to the unavailability of a Pakka (well-built) house.

It doesn’t mean that they are staying in an open place or a thatched house. But they are staying at a rented house with a high rate of rent charged by the house owner. The rented house is made of mud and roofed with asbestos, which creates a very critical situation during the rainy season. The most important thing is the house is not completely secure and safe.

In this situation, she decided to construct a good standard RCC (Reinforced Cement Concrete) house. She has already started to construct the house. But the funds that are available are not sufficient to complete it. So she decided to borrow a loan from a bank or other financial institution. At this point, Sridevi came to Mahashakti Foundation to learn details about a house loan.

Mahashakti Foundation has decided to disburse a loan for her house construction. With the loan, Sridevi will complete the door, windows, plastering, flooring and coloring of the concrete on the house. She will also complete the wiring with an electricity connection. She is very happy to know that her house will be complete within a few months and she will be proud to be a house owner in society.
