Kedress is a 36-year-old mother of 3 children living in Kagadi, Uganda. Her major source of income is a retail shop and produce buying and selling. She used the previous loan to buy maize, beans and alcohol for selling. She does not regret the loan, which helped her a lot to look after her children and pay school fees for them.
In future, she has plans of building a house for her family and also to buy a motorcycle for a transport business.
All her businesses are affected by unfavorable weather conditions, on top of price fluctuations. Through this group, Kedress is proud to mention that all group members have been in line to educate their children and support each other in any way.
She wants to use this loan restock the retail shop with sugar, rice, biscuits, sweets and other things ahead of the Christmas season. She is a member of Natete Tukwatanize Farmers Group, where members guarantee each other to get loans, as they don’t pledge securities.
