A loan helped to purchase a trading kiosk and have the funds needed to serve people who need to access financial services at the new location he would like to set up.

Joseph's story

Joseph is a 62-year-old father of 6. He lives in the eastern province of Zambia with his wife who is a stay at home mother. Joseph is looking to grow his business by opening a new outlet in the town of Chipata to improve his family's standard of living.

Joseph was drafted into compulsory national service in 1978 at the age of 20. He worked hard and rose through the ranks while in the Zambia national services. Joseph is now retired and runs his own business as a Zoona mobile money transfer agent. This means that he provides the service of sending and receiving money to people. Joseph believes that every customer should leave one of his outlets with a smile on their face and he works hard to make this happen.

Joseph requests a Kiva loan to purchase a trading kiosk and have the funds needed to serve customers at the new location. He is hopeful that the new outlet will help to increase his earnings so that he can provide better for his family.

Joseph's dream is to send two of his sons to university as they are currently in high school. He also dreams of owning his own car one day.
