The group Gye-nyame is loan group and will begin its first loan cycle with ID-Ghana, as part of Teshie-branch loan system. It is made up of five members and is represented by Augustina. The businesses which the members of the loan group carry out are varied and among them are cassava and corn dough, beans, sweet potato, palm oil, plantain, gari (cassava flour).
The loan that they are getting will help the small business owners of whom Augustina is one. She says that a year ago, she joined ID-Ghana, joining at the invitation of a friend who is a client of the institution. Now, she has a business baking bread and pastries and is also into cake decoration. She comments that she learned her business from her mother.
The loan that she is now getting out is to increase her capital to purchase flour, margarine, cooking oil, yeast, flavor and nut milk from the wholesalers to bake bread and pastries which she will later sell in her sales location. This manner of working allows her to get resources to support her family economically since she is married and has two children.
When asked what she likes about ID-Ghana, she says that she likes business and nutrition training that the institution offers.
