A loan helped repair the leaky roof of her home and prevent illnesses.

Edith Del Carmen's story

Edith, age 38, is a single mother. She lives in her own home along with her father, two sisters, and her two sons, ages 17 and 15 years. Edith's main business is selling ham and avocado sandwiches out of her home. She also earns money by making and selling various articles of clothing.

Edith took out a prior loan which she used to add a floor, doors, and windows to her home, improving her quality of life. Thanks to the good experience she had, she is requesting a new loan from FUSAI which she will use to buy materials such as wood, nails, and metal sheeting so that she can fix the roof of the hallway of her home. It's in fairly poor condition now, and come the rainy season, it will leak, making mud in the hallway which will later become dust that can cause respiratory infections in the family.
