Obdulia started her business because she wanted to provide a better future for her son. It began in 1998 when she lost her job at an assembly plant and began to take on sewing work from home. She saw the possibility of earning enough money to support her family with this work. As a single mother Obdulia wanted to give her son, of whom she is very proud, the opportunity to study.
When she began her business she only made clothing repairs for her neighbors but now she also makes uniforms and different types of clothes. She has an industrial sewing machine that allows her to take on more work. Obdulia needs a loan of 5,000 MXN, to be repaid in 24 weeks, to buy work supplies, thread, and cloth to increase her production and thus her income.
