Evermore is a hard working business woman and a mother of three children. Her two sons and her daughter help her in running her hairdressing business ever since she lost her husband in 2003. Her business has been improving at a snail’s pace because of the increasing cost of education for her children. She has been forced to complement the salon with selling clothes that she procures from South Africa, Tanzania and Botswana.
Evermore is one of our success stories here at Thrive Microfinance. She has been able to extend her salon and provide more space, buy a heavy-duty drier, hair chemicals and other equipment necessary for her salon. Her children’s school fees are paid from the business profits. Evermore even has enough money left over to enjoy little luxuries, like milk for tea, which was once beyond her reach.
Her group, Dunamis Power consist of three other women, also committed to their businesses. She hopes that a loan amounting $800 from Kiva will help her acquire better hairdressing equipment to match the increasing demand from her customers.
