Zubaida Khursheed Ahmad Group's story

Zubaida baji is a 53-year-old married lady. Her husband's name is K. A. and he is a daily wage laborer. She is the mother of four kids: three sons and one daughter. Her eldest son is a fruit seller selling seasonal fruit. Another is a daily wage laborer. Her youngest son is reading 6th standard. Her daughter is also reading 6th standard.



Zubaida baji is a seamstress. She has been sewing clothes for the past 4 years. She uses her income to pay the school fees of her children. She is applying for a loan to buy seasonal fruit to expand her eldest son’s fruit-selling business.



Zubaida baji is the group leader for some more women from her locality. Nasreen baji wants a loan to pay the installments on her auto-rickshaw (a local three-wheeled motor vehicle). Shamim baji wants a loan to buy utensils and flour to re-sell. Shamshad baji wants a loan to buy groceries for her grocery shop. Fozia baji wants a loan to buy medicines for her pharmacy.



This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.
