The members of the 'Ondogou Da 3' Group are all married women who are, on average, 36 years and have four children. They all live in polygamous families in Bandiagara, the fifth administrative region of Mali.
The women work with the field partner, Soro Yiriwaso, in order to improve their vegetable growing businesses during the winter season. This will be their third loan.
Djénéba, sitting in the middle of the photo, grows mainly onions. She will use her loan to buy seeds and fertilizer. Her harvest will be sold in the village of Ondougou and in Bandiagara, to both men and women. Djénéba expects to make a profit of 21,000 francs CFA over the loan period. This will enable her to help her husband provide for the family's expenses, food, schooling and healthcare. The rest of her profit will be reinvested in her business.
