A loan helped to construct a cowshed.

Weldon's story

Weldon is a hardened mixed-farmer from Cheborge village in the Litein region of Kenya, which is known for luxuriant tea plantation farms. Weldon lives together with Flossy, his wife, and two children.

For the six years that they have been married, Weldon gets help from his wife to run the 3.5 acre farm. The farm has one cow and five poultry. 50 trees have been planted on the farm since it began operation.

Weldon is seeking a loan that will enable him to construct a shelter for his dairy cow. He is concerned that the cow faces harsh weather conditions day in day out. The shelter will offer protection to the cow as well as make his work in the farm much easier since the cows movement and feed intake will be under his control.

He stated that the investment will be of great impact to his family. Income generated from this investment will help him take care of the education of his two infant children.
