La Gran Esperanza Group's story

Elena is a 57 year old single woman and doesn't have any children. Her business is selling fast food. She is enterprising, optimistic, dependable, hard-working and very responsible. She works in the southern area of her city, in a place known for its constant business growth in all areas. The zone has a tropical climate with a temperature of 27-32 degrees centigrade all year long.

Elena has a dark complexion, grey hair, medium height, her first language is Quechua and her second language Spanish. She is the second person from the right in the blue blouse). She needs to improve her quality of life so she formed a communal bank group. The members have businesses such as making baby clothing, selling french fries, selling athletic clothing, neighborhood store, butcher, video store, selling sandwiches. They seek a loan to grow their respective businesses.

Elena's business is selling fast food such as hamburgers, salchipapas (sausage and french fries), egg and chicken sandwich. She has a fixed stand that she works Monday through Sunday in the evenings. During the day she sells clothing as an employee in a brand-name clothing store. She works there Monday through Saturday 9:00 AM to 6:30 PM.

This is the 4th loan cycle, and she has had this business for 12 years. Her business is successful because of its central location and many people walk through that area. Her dream is to have a snack bar in her home. She wishes to expand her business by investing in buying tables and chairs in order to serve more customers. For these reasons Elena seeks a loan to purchase tables and chairs to serve more customers.
