A loan helped to buy more hair relaxers and braids for the salon.

Reacheal's story

Reacheal is 28 years old and lives in the town of Wobulenzi, in the Luwero region of Uganda. She is married and has two children, who are both currently in school. For the past five years, Reacheal has been working hard to manage her beauty salon, where she provides services like hair dressing.

To help expand her business, Reacheal has requested a loan of 3,500,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more hair relaxers and braids for the salon. This will help Reacheal to generate greater profits and take good care of her family's basic needs. Reacheal hopes that in the future, she will be able to open up a beauty training school.

Reacheal is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Reacheal, who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
