Buramba Tukwatanise Group's story

Annet is a repeat client and a member of Buramba Tukwatanise Group having borrowed twice from UGAFODE through its Ishaka Branch. She is single with four children. She also has 2 dependents who stay with her since they have no parents. Her major sources of income are from farming and dealing in dry cereals. She has given her best to be able to get income to sustain her family. She gives this business 10 hours per day. In addition to this business, Annet does chicken production as a way of supplementing her income. She started her business in the year 2000 in Burumba ward, Ishaka Bushenyi District. Her main objective of starting her business was because dry cereals don’t spoil easily. Her clients are mainly the farmers and people with parties. She has applied for a loan of UGX 300,000 (three hundred thousand shillings only) to purchase more dry cereals for her business. Her biggest challenge is the unfavorable climatic conditions and debtors which both affect her income negatively. Her future plans are to pay school fees for her dependents and pay for medical services for them and herself. She loves what she does and this has helped her a lot in conducting her business. She thanks the institution at large for its continued support in financing her businesses.
