A loan helped to purchase a T-shirt imprinting machine to expand the product line at her retail kiosk.

Bernardine's story

Bernardine is not your typical senior citizen. She doesn't spend her days knitting or doing crossword puzzles. Bernardine operates a kiosk at a local Air Force base, selling personal products to servicemen and servicewomen.

Widowed, Bernardine was finding it hard to make ends meet, so she set out to find a way to bring in some extra cash for household expenses. Earlier this year, Bernardine opened her kiosk, selling body oils, lotions, and linens. With her charming personality and motherly attention, she was an instant hit, and business is booming.

She has been offered a larger space at the base, and with a loan of $3,775, Bernardine will expand her inventory and purchase a T-shirt imprinting machine to make custom imprinted T-shirts on site.
