A loan helped to purchase a cow and start producing dairy products.

Manana's story

Manana is 44 years old and from the small village of Zugdidi district. She lives with her large family: husband, mother-in-law and six children. Her mother-in-law is provided with the retirement pension. The family is involved in agricultural activities. In particular, they have a plot of agricultural land, where they grow maize and nut trees. They sell the harvested products seasonally, but the income is not enough for such a large family.

Manana decided to start a husbandry business and requested a loan. The Start Up program, which is a joint initiative with Kiva and Credo, enables her to get a loan of 1,050 GEL (Georgia lari). With the received credit, she will purchase a cow and will start producing dairy products. She will sell cheese and milk, as well as use it for the children's food. The Start Up program will be a great support for her family.
