A loan helped a member to buy spare parts for the bus and do maintenance on it.


Maryam Gader Group's story

This group is called Maryam Gader. It consists of four women members, living in Sana'a, Yemen. They requested a loan of 260,000 YER from AMB.

Maryam is a 53-year-old married woman, living with her spouse in a rented house in the capital city of Sana'a. She is an uneducated woman and works as a housewife in her home. Maryam is the leader of the group. Many years ago, Maryam purchased a bus for transportation. Over time, this bus has become very old and needs maintenance and repair. This transportation business is regarded as the sole income source of the family. Recently, it has stopped and because the bus needs repairing. This has created a bad condition and a financial crisis for the family. For this reason, Maryam applied for a loan of 80,000 YER in order to buy spare parts for the bus to maintain it.

Maryam's vision is to purchase a piece of land and build her own house. She hopes to save the money from renting and use it to improve the living standards of the family.
