A loan helped to buy groceries, toiletries, and beverages.

Nilam's story

Nilam’s husband runs a grocery shop in Korisaya village, Deoghar, Jharkhand. Nilam is a housewife who also helps her husband in his business. Both work very hard and have been in this business for the past 12 years. Their grocery shop inventory consists of daily consumable products such as rice, pulses, flour, oil, potatoes, onions, nuts, ghee, grams, spices, etc. They earn approximately INR 10,000 per month.

Nilam aims to improve this grocery store for which she is requesting a loan of INR 20,000 to buy groceries, toiletries, beverages and other products to add to her inventory. This is her second loan from the local NGO “MESP”. She invested the first loan also in the same shop and made good profit, repaying it successfully.

Nilam believes the more items displayed at the store, the better her sales will be. This additional income from the business will definitely help cover her family’s daily needs and her children’s educational expenses.

Nilam hopes that her business continues to flourish and also that her children complete their education.
