Louise, age 54, is a merchant, and a member and the president of Unyenyekevu Group. She's a widow and the mother of seven children. Out of them, four are still studying, whereas the three others are already married.
She's been selling used clothing (secondhand backpacks) for the past four years. She sets up her products in a busy street of the place where she lives.
She's seeking a loan from Kiva's partner, Hekima, in order to expand her business. She started it with funding received from her children.
She will buy 20 used backpacks. In the future, she wishes to bolster her working capital, send her children to school, and provide them with clothes and food.
She thanks Hekima for its support towards female entrepreneur who are excluded from the traditional banking system, especially during this postwar time in the East of the country.
