A loan helped to buy beans, groundnuts and rice to sell.

Harriet's story

Harriet is a married woman who has four children. She lives in Hoima, Uganda. She deals in produce, such as rice, beans and groundnuts. She has been in business since 2005. She started the business after realizing that farming on a small piece of land, alone, was not profitable. So she started buying farm products from other farmers to sell, and the business became profitable.

Price fluctuations and the high cost of transport pose challenges to her business growth, while her desire is to own a food store in town. Harriet is requesting a loan to buy beans, groundnuts and rice to sell.
