A loan helped to pay for graduation expenses for her degree in Political Science and Law.

Gabriela's story

Gabriela is a young artisan who lives with her parents. She does not have children but she hopes to have them in the future. Her father finished high school and studied to be an electrician but her mother was only able to finish high school and does not work. They are her main drive in achieving her goals.

They live in Valle Hermoso a neighborhood that is quite far from the center of Cochabamba. It is very humble and lacks many basic services.

She has had artisan jobs since she was very young and thanks to the work she is able to take care of herself and help with the household expenses. Her other job is that of an aide in a legal office where she makes a small salary since she does not have a law degree.

Gabriela left law school, but she was unable to complete her studies due to lack of time because she had to work at the store (as shown in the photo). She opened the store in the center of the city, after much effort and saving up, in order to help her family financially. Now, she is requesting a student loan to be able to finish her degree in Political Science and Law which will allow her to achieve her dream of helping women and children who are mistreated or are victims of violence. To do this she wants to work in family law.
