Miriam's Omega Group's story

Miriam is 30 years old, married and has a one-year-old child. She is also raising another child who is four years old. Miriam makes a living running a shop where she sells tomatoes. Every day, she works from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. at her business and can earn a monthly profit of about $80 from her sales.


Miriam has applied for a loan to buy more tomatoes to sell to her customers. She will share this loan with the other members of her group, who run businesses selling bananas, vegetables and clothing. The fifth member of her group works as a seamstress.
