Namaha Shibaya Self Help Group's story

The group Namaha Shibaya Self Help Group has 14 members who are all from the same neighbourhood.

The lady standing in the front wearing a orange saree in the photo is Diptimayee, the leader of the group. Diptimayee is a 29-year-old married woman in Balipatna village of Odisha, India. The couple has one child who is at his schooling. Diptimayee lives with her son and, together with her husband, takes care of all the household expenses.

For the past four years, she has been involved in the activity of growing and selling vegetables. Her husband and her son help her in this activity. All other members of this group are engaged in various kinds of activities like agriculture, cattle farming, etc.

In order to strengthen the business and respond to customer demand, Diptimayee, together with her group, Namaha Shibaya Self Help Group, has requested a loan amount of 2,10,000 INR. She will use her portion for purchasing seeds, fertilizers and pesticides. Their goal is to expand their business activity.
