Swabula, a married mother of four children, all of whom go to school, also takes care of additional family members who are orphans. She resides in her own house, and the family has access to electricity and piped water. Her monthly expenses include school fees, utility bills and food for the family.
For three years now, seven days per week, Swabula has been selling used children’s shoes at the market. This is her sole source of income, and her major business challenges include seasonality and thieves. She has requested a loan of 500000 Uganda shillings from MCDTSACCO to buy more bales of children’s shoes.
Swabula aspires to become a wholesaler and build her own business premise.
