A loan helped a member to plow the field for farming and to buy more grocery items to sell.

Phan's Group's story

A citizen from a rural area located in the Dambae district where farming is a common way to earn a living, Phan is age 39 and married. She and her husband have struggled to feed the family by growing cassava and selling grocery items in the village. She and her husband have been in these businesses for 10 years.
Phan has been with Kiva’s partner, VisionFund, for five loans and she completely paid back the loans. Her group members have been with VisionFund for from four to six loans. The past loans have helped Phan to relieve her family’s burden. Now she is leading her group of three to apply for a loan. As the leader, she wants to use her portion to plow the field and use a portion of it to spend on buying more grocery items to resell. She hopes this loan will enable her to increase her family’s income so as to better her living condition.
