A loan helped to expand water filter sales and increase the access to safe and affordable drinking water in Cikarang, West Java, Indonesia.

Titin's story

Mrs Titin used to be a junior high school teacher and is nowadays housewife. Titin thinks that selling Nazava Water filters is a great business opportunity because she can augment her household income whilst fulfilling her household duties at the same time.
Titin lives in Cikarang which is part of the greater Jakarta agglomeration of over 28 million people. In this area nobody has potable water from their tap. Many people use well water which is often very dirty. To get safe drinking water people have to buy water which is very expensive. That is why Titin started to sell Nazava Water Filters and so far with great success. Within a month she has ordered 3 times and each time all her filters were sold out very quickly.
“Selling the Nazava filters for drinking water and for filtering household water for washing and cooking are a very appropriate business opportunity here in Cikarang and surroundings. I hope that using this KIVA loan, I can become the largest agent in the greater Jakarta region”.
The KIVA loan allows Titin to save on shipping costs, enables her to expand more quickly and will therefore provide more people with safe and affordable drinking water.
