A loan helped a member to buy fertilizer and pesticides for her farmland.

Savorn's Group's story

Savorn, 40, lives in a rural village in the Sampov Meas district of the Pursat Province. She is a married mother of four children, one of whom is dependent on her and still in school. Her family’s income is derived from leasing a two-hectare rice paddy and planting bean. She has been making a living from this business for 22 years. From her current business, she can earn about 37,000 Cambodian riels (KHR) per day and save about 10,000 KHR per day for future needs.

Savorn’s group of four includes two members who live in the same village. This is her first group loan with VisionFund. As the leader of this group, she will use her portion to buy fertilizer and pesticides for her farmland. She hopes to produce more rice and bean to make a better living and keep her child in school.
