A loan helped to buy fertilizer for her farmland.

Kimnorn's story

Living in a wooden house in a rural area of the Ou Reang Ov district of Kampong Cham province, Cambodia, Kimnorn is a 28-year-old married woman who has been farming rice as the main source of her family’s income on 1.5-hectare area of farmland for five years. To add more income, she also works as a paid worker in her local area. Her daily income is approximately 15,000 KHR per day and she can manage to save about 5,000 KHR each day after offsetting daily expenses.

Kimnorn is in her first microloan with Kiva’s partner, VisionFund. She is requesting a loan of 2,400,000 KHR. She will use this loan to buy fertilizer for her farmland. Through this loan, she hopes to get a high yield from the rice-paddy crop so as to better her living conditions.
