Elizabeth is a 30 year old woman. She lives in the city of Cañete, in the Imperial district. She is happily married with two small children and dedicates all of her efforts to getting them ahead in life. She is a happy, hard-working, enthusiastic woman.
Elizabeth and her husband come from families that have always been engaged in livestock farming; this is how they met. Ten years ago, thanks to her entrepreneurial spirit and support of her husband, Elizabeth started her small business, selling milk. She has nine dairy cows and eight heifers or calves; she inherited some of them from her parents and bought the others with her savings.
Elizabeth feels very grateful for the Kiva loans because thanks to the support offered, she will be able to build a coral and a feeding place for her cows. She will purchase iron, cement, bricks, and wood. In this way, she will be able to raise and feed her cows in an appropriate manner. In a short time, she hopes her dairy cows will enable her to increase her income and assure the welfare and future of her small children.
