A loan helped a member to buy salt, sugar and spices for a grocery store business.

Ameeran's Group's story

Ameeran is 51 years old. She is a widow who lost her husband a few years ago as a result of sudden death. Now she lives with her nephew who also works. She is still very energetic and operates a grocery store business from her home. She sells different grocery items such as salt, cooking oils, snacks, etc. She offers grocery products to her clients at very reasonable rates.

Ameeran has applied for a loan from Kiva's partner, Asasah, for her grocery store business. With the loan, she will buy different grocery items such as sugar, salt, etc. in larger quantities that will allow her to make more income by selling them. She is an experienced lady and has been operating her business for the past many years. She is confident that her business will be improved further after investing the loan.

In the photo, the lady holding a book, an Asasah passbook, is Ameeran.
