A loan helped to hire laborers to maintain her farmland.

Emilia's story

Fifty-eight-year-old Emilia is married to 70-year-old Felix. They have two children. They live together in the community of Periavente Alta in the district of Llochegua. Emilia is a very courageous mother who is dedicated to her farming work. She grows cacao and coffee, as well as citrus fruits. She tells us that to get started in this work she had to rely on the the teachings she received from her parents when she was young. She usually works with the help of her beloved husband, but during the harvest season and when it's time to clear her land she always needs good laborers to help her with the work. Emilia likes her work so much because it makes her good money, which is why she is thinking about selling groceries in the future.

This will be her second loan with MFP and she promises to make her payments on time. With the 3,000 nuevos soles she will hire laborers to help her keep up her farmland.
