A loan helped to contract laborers.

Ruth's story

Ruth is 24 years old. She is a hardworking, determined woman, as well as happy and friendly. She lives with her partner, Felix, who also is a farmer. Ruth lives in the company of her partner and their children, who are seven and two years old, and who they really love. She says that at the moment she is living in a rented house.

Ruth works in agriculture, specifically planting yuca on the land of her in-laws, who have loaned her seven hectares of land. On top of this, she rents two additional hectares from her neighbor, paying 400 soles of rent for each producing hectare.

Having been in this business for two years and with the support of her partner and two laborers who they pay 20 nuevos soles daily, she has managed to get ahead and give her children the best in life. She is pleased with her job, since she finds it healthy and calm. Furthermore, she likes country life, since she cannot stand life in the city. She has plans to expand her business and open a store for motorcycle parts in Pucallpa city, seeing that there is enough demand for this business.

This will be her second loan with the MFP institution. She hopes for a small loan so that she can meet her goals. On the other hand, she promises once again to make her payments, like with the last loan she had. Furthermore, she is grateful to be part of her communal bank because all the members are responsible and very supportive people. With the requested amount of 1500 nuevos soles, she will invest in the planting of more hectares of yuca, contracting laborers for this job.
