A loan helped to buy fertilizer and farm inputs needed in her business.

Aurora's story

This is Aurora, 59, resident of Silang, Cavite, Philippines. She is married to Arnulfo, a farmer, and is a mother to her children. She, together with her husband, manages their household while operating her business. She works hard to provide income for their everyday expenses.

Aurora grows pineapples and some bananas on her farm located in Cavite. Her farm is in the highlands, where it is suitable to grow pineapple and bananas. She regularly sells her products to markets and fruit stores, as well as to the local community. She earns a minimum of PHP 6,000 each month.

To help continue operation of her business, she is requesting a PHP 14,000 loan. She will use the loan to buy fertilizer and farm inputs for her business. Part of the loan will also go to the maintenance of her farm. She expects a boost in her business income as she expands her business.

Aurora dreams of being able to give her family a good future through all her hard work. She faithfully meets each week with her co-fellowship* members to share stories of her work and to draw strength and inspiration from the Word of God, which she studies.

* All CCT community partners / clients are organized into fellowship groups that meet on a weekly basis. A fellowship group is composed of 15 to 30 community partners. The fellowship groups gather each week to study the Word of God, build social capital, and pay Micro Finance loans.
