A loan helped to buy a cow for fattening.

Pascuala's story

Pascuala is a member of the Communal Bank “Las Estrellitas Unidas de Titicaca” (The United Little Stars of Titicaca) which is located in the District of Pilcuyo, El Collao Province, Department of Puno. She is 57 years old, widowed, and has six children, all of whom are independent. Pascuala did not receive an education.

She has worked with Manuela Ramos for one loan cycle. Her first loan was in the amount of 300 PEN and the money helped to increase her business of buying and selling cows and pigs.

This new loan of 500 PEN will increase her capital so that she can buy a cow that she will fatten for one month. Her children occasionally help her with her business. Pascuala says she also works on a farm.

Her dream is to continue working in her business of selling livestock. What she likes most about the Communal Bank is the interest from her savings.
