A loan helped a member to buy sacks of yams and beans.

Yeyinou Group's story

YEYINOU is a group of three persons whose members reside in the same district in Benin. The group’s representative, Christiane (with her hand raised in the photo) is 49 years old and married to a teacher by the name of Rémi. They support five children, all in school. Four of the children are their own. Christiane and her husband live together with their children and jointly ensure that the various family expenses are covered.

Christiane dropped out primary school. To cope with her different expenses, she sells fried yams served with bean beignets out of her home. She gets her supplies from a market in Benin. She operates this business with passion. It enables her to provide for herself and her children.

Seeking to satisfy her customers, she and the other members of the group YEYINOU are requesting an initial loan. This loan will serve to respond better to customer demands and to make more profit.
