A loan helped to build a larger shelter for the goats.


Maria's story

Maria is 43 years old and lives in Abaclia village, Basarabeasca district. She is married and has a 19-year-old daughter who studies at the Pedagogical University and dreams of becoming a teacher.

Together with her husband, Maria runs a goat farm with around 250 goats. They also raise poultry and pigs to provide healthy food for their family. Their main source of income comes from selling goat milk. Part of the milk is delivered to a dairy factory, while the rest is processed at home and sold to local people and in bulk.

To improve their farm, Maria plans to build a larger shelter for the goats and their kids. Due to the rising cost of construction materials, she decided to apply for a Kiva loan.

With this support, Maria will be able to expand her farm, improve working conditions and increase her family’s income.
